Join for FREE!\nIn this fun\, interactive event\, children ages 5-8 and 9-12 will get started exploring the world of coding by joining a small group class aligned to their age and skill level (10 kids max). Guided by our expert coding instructors\, your child will get hands-on experience bringing their own unique ideas to life through coding\, all while learning valuable life skills like problem-solving\, creativity\, and team collaboration. No prior experience needed! \nChoose from Two Exciting Sessions\nEach session includes 2 hours of small group\, instructor-led coding lessons plus 30 minutes for students to present their projects to family. \n\nScratch: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM (ages 5-8)\nMinecraft: 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM (ages 9-12)\n\nMorning Fun with Scratch – 9:30am to 12:00pm (with Nick) \nKids age 5-8 will start the day by designing and mixing crazy facial features\, from silly eyes to funky hairstyles\, and learn the basics of coding along the way. Using “Scratch” to code\, our “Make a Face” project introduces students to using variables\, an important foundational coding concept they’ll build on as they explore more coding projects in the future! \nDesigned as an introduction to coding for young children\, this event is based on Tokyo Coding Club’s Scratch Foundations 1B class curriculum. \nAfternoon 3D Design and Coding in Minecraft – 12:30pm to 3:00pm (with Nick) \nKids age 9-12 will dive into 3D design and coding with our “Custom Weapon” project\, building their own 3D weapon model and adding it to Minecraft. Working with tools like Blockbench (3D modeling) and Visual Studio Code (coding)\, students will build a resource pack and datapack that brings their creation to life. Our skilled instructors have crafted engaging\, holiday-inspired projects that will enchant kids of all skill levels.\nHands-On Holiday Projects: Kids will dive into interactive and creative projects that celebrate the winter season. Using Scratch or Python\, they’ll code their own holiday-themed games\, like winter wonderland adventures or festive quests. In Minecraft\, they’ll work together to build a virtual holiday village\, complete with seasonal decorations and snowy landscapes.\nHoliday Challenges and Games: Take part in special coding challenges inspired by the holiday season.
