Gunma Summer Camp

Japan’s best sleepaway camp is back and better than ever! In partnership with Nishimachi International School, Tokyo Coding Club is proud to present our summer tech camp in the stunning landscapes of Mt. Akagi, Gunma Prefecture.
Gunma Session 5 Highlights
- Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18
- Open to campers age 6-12
- 15+ hours of coding and game development lessons
- Daily outdoor activities and excursions around Gunma
- Led entirely by English-speaking staff members
- 150,000 JPY (+10% tax) for 5-days, 4-nights
- All-inclusive (meals, drinks, transportation, activities)
Dates: With a convenient Monday – Friday schedule, campers get the perfect amount of time away from home. Staff and campers depart from Tokyo on Monday morning and return on Friday evening, ensuring a full 5-days of tech learning and outdoor adventures!
Ages: Children ages 6-12 are welcome to join! Campers will be assigned into small groups based on age, with a dedicated staff member guiding them throughout the week, as well as support staff leading them through tech lessons, onsite activities, and offsite excursions.
What’s New: After hundreds of hours of tech lessons and dozens of excursions throughout Gunma, we’ve optimized this camp to the max. Campers will enjoy the best of the best activities designed to give students a fun, memorable, and rewarding experience.
Tech Lessons: Whether you’re a master programmer or a complete beginner, come on in! Campers will participate in daily tech lessons aligned with their level, led by experienced tech professionals driven to help kids build and grow real STEM skills.
Lesson content varies weekly, including:
- Scratch Coding
- Python Coding
- Minecraft
- Roblox
- Robotics
- Digital design
- and more!
This summer features exciting new tech lessons developed by our instructors for both new and returning campers. As always, every week features different tech lessons, so there’s always more to learn!
Activities: Every day of camp, students will go beyond the classroom and away from their screens to explore the magnificent natural wonders, exciting attractions, and cultural sites of Japan’s stunning Mt. Akagi and greater Gunma prefecture.
Regardless of the week(s) you choose, all campers enjoy a variety camp activities, such as:

Pricing: 150,000 JPY (+10% tax) for the entire 5 day, 4 night, all-inclusive experience.
Where do I drop off and pick up my kid(s)?
Location and timing will be detailed in the official parent guide sent out before camp. See Tokyo Coding Club’s Nishi-Azabu office here, via Google Maps.
How do I register and pay?
Use the form on this page for a quick, easy registration! Please keep in mind that spots are limited and most families book far in advance of summer.
After registration, look out for an email with information on secure payment via credit card.
Do you have a refund policy?
Yes. If you are unable to attend the camp as intended, we provide 100% free cancellation up to 4 weeks before the camp starts, or 50% back up to 2 weeks prior to day 1.
My child has dietary restrictions. Can they still participate?
Absolutely! Please include any dietary needs or restrictions in the registration form and we will gladly accommodate.
What does the daily schedule look like?
While each day varies slightly, the general schedule is as follows.
- 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM (Wake up and get ready)
- 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Breakfast and cleanup)
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Morning Tech lessons)
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (Lunch and cleanup)
- 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Afternoon Excursion)
- 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Shower and break time)
- 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Dinner and cleanup)
- 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Evening activity)
- 8:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Get ready for bed)
- 9:00 PM – Morning (Lights out)
